Marie Gillemot
Trustee

Marie Gillemot brings a lifetime of resilience, compassion, and community stewardship to her role as a trustee of the George W. Gillemot Foundation. Born in Ely, Nevada, and raised on a ranch as the youngest of eight siblings, she developed a deep-rooted appreciation for hard work, family, and the values that define Nevada.
After graduating from White Pine High School, Marie relocated to Reno to pursue her education, completing nursing studies at Saint Mary’s Hospital and continuing her coursework through extended studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she also earned a paralegal studies certification. She began her professional career as a certified nursing assistant on the surgical floor at Saint Mary’s Hospital, providing critical patient care for five years.
Following that, Marie fully dedicated herself to raising her family, guiding her five children from early childhood through successful professional careers in healthcare and education. Her family’s accomplishments—including roles as a physician’s assistant, dentist, emergency room physician, dental hygienist and Montessori educator—reflect her enduring commitment to education, service, and strong faith. Today, she is a proud grandmother of 18.
In 2012, Marie married George W. Gillemot. This began a new chapter in her life where they shared a dedication to philanthropy and passion for expanding educational opportunities for Nevada’s youth. She currently resides in northern Nevada, where she manages the family’s cattle ranch, continuing the traditions of stewardship, furthering education and charitable giving.
As a trustee of the Gillemot Foundation, Marie honors her late husband’s vision by supporting programs that expand access to aviation, drone, and aerospace education for northern Nevada’s youth. Through her philanthropic efforts, she advances initiatives that reflect her values of generosity and community service—ensuring that future generations have opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.
